And the reason we will never forget is because Eddie Van Halen CHANGED this world in such an incredibly profound (and incredibly METAL) way that he can only be described as unforgettable
There have been many copycats and imitators over the years, but to paraphrase from The Highlander: “There Can Be Only ONE Eddie Van Halen!”

There are no words to describe the profound loss our world experienced the day that Edward Van Halen left this mortal coil. We have lost the grinningest face in all of rock & metal music.
We have lost an incomparable innovator, a pioneer, a true maverick who COMPLETELY ALTERED (for all time) how we view (and as musicians, play) the guitar as a musical instrument.
He’s influenced countless guitarists worldwide, he has “double-handedly” changed the game of lead guitar playing and guitar soloing.
There really just aren’t enough adjectives to cover every single incredible gift that EVH brought to the world of rock & metal & guitar.
And now he’s gone from this world.
Eddie, THANK YOU for everything you’ve done through your music and your incredible gift to mankind: the gift of SHRED!
Eddie Van Halen, YOU, sir, are a BLESSING and your musical contributions to this planet have helped to raise the bar for showmanship, playmanship and shredmanship as it relates to the guitar.
We here at Metal Nerdery wish to pay homage and offer up our tribute to the game changing guitarist of our generation.
